Ultraviolet Light
|
Ultraviolet light uses light to disinfect the air. Many problems with this including exposure time and intensity. We have found that residential UV systems are relatively ineffective on purifying indoor air. Here is why:
- There is no monitoring ensuring the bulb is working at peak efficiency.
- Very fragile and can be broken easily.
- Once bulb is coated with dust and dirt it becomes ineffective.
- Air flow usually is to fast for proper decontamination.
- If bulb is working effectively it must be placed correctly and in most cases on both sides of the filter ensuring complete decontamination, not just surface (does not penetrate the entire filter).
