The Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota released a study from the Well Living Lab to show the efficacy of portable HealthWay air purifiers in a classroom setting

Pulaski, NY- July 22, 2021– The Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota released a study in conjunction with the Well Living Lab to show the efficacy of portable air purification units in an experimental classroom setting with a potential hazard. 

A team of more than 20 researchers built an experimental classroom using a mannequin to spray out a colored solution, to mimic how a sick student might spread particles as they breathe. Researchers were able to measure particulate matter on 70 surfaces across the room to see how the droplets spread with and without air purification. 

Researchers found that portable HealthWay air purifiers were effective at removing particles from the entire room, not just where the air purifiers were placed. The study also showed that using portable air purifiers in addition to a classroom HVAC system may result in up to five times lower particle concentration in the air, resulting in better air quality throughout the room.

DFS technology has also been proven to remove a COVID-19 size proxy virus from the air, the results of this data show 99.987% elimination in 10 minutes of the surrogate which is 0.03 micron in size.
